Along with individual voltage and current limits, the user can set V & I ramps from the front panel. LEDs for channel ready and HV ON clearly show the output status. All NHS modules are equipped with 24 bit ADC and 20 bit DAC circuits. The HV outputs are provided via SHV sockets and are located on the rear panel.

The sample rates and digital filter averages are adjustable enabling excellent setting and measurement resolution. The high precision units have a 2nd current measurement range. This enables loads taking a just a few picoamps to be measured and characterised.

The High Precision range of NHS cassettes benefit from up to a 50% reduction in ripple and noise (as low as <3mV peak-to-peak), and improved measurement resolution. The polarity of these units is factory-fixed, and should be specified during the order process. If your application requires user setting of polarity, consider our NHQ NIM range. 

Remote control is provided via USB or CAN. Up to 12 modules can be connected via CAN and controlled from a single USB interface via a converter. Comprehensive software is available and ideal for more complex systems where event based programmable trip parameters are useful. 

An iCSmini2 intelligent external controller box is available with an embedded Linux-Server system. This allows users to control NHS modules via advanced iCS2.6 control software. The software allows multiple high voltage power supplies from ETPS to be controlled through one manufacturer specific Linux OS.

iCS2.6 software allows users to remotely program, monitor and error log output values of NHS modules. It also features integrated role and user management, allowing technicians and students to have different user privileges for example. An integrated Wi-Fi access point in the iCSmini2 provides control of the modules via any device with secure internet capability. This allows access through any PC, tablet or smart phone with a modern internet browser.

A large set of preconfigured services are integrated into the software such as EPICS, Web-Control, SNMP, SOAP, Websocket, OPC/UA1, isegHAL and HTTP-API. It is possible to edit Python scripts directly with access to all needed hardware parameters. The open platform nature of iCS2 also allows for the simple integration of external 3^rd party devices into test setups.

Overload, short-circuit and arc protection is provided. A safety interlock circuit along with inputs for an external inhibit signal are also built in as standard. Recessed 10 position pots enable maximum V and I limits to be set for the whole module to help protect sensitive loads.

NHS modules are built into a 1/12 NIM (Nuclear Instrument Module) cassette format as standard. Both 19" rackmounting and desktop NIM crates are optionally available. Models are available with between 5 and 12 slots to install and control multiple NIM modules from the same crate.
