POWER MODE FOR FOUR QUADRANT PSUs

Do you need to simulate high power inductive and capacitive AC loads? The new power mode option for the EAC-ACS-4Q four quadrant power systems could be the perfect solution.

EAC-ACS-4Q Power ModeAn optional GUI has been released for EAC-ACS-4Q four quadrant power systems, allowing users to operate in constant power mode. Apparent power and cos(phi), or active power and reactive power, can be set individually per phase, or symmetrically across all three phases. Test sequences are built out of multiple blocks within the software, with durations and rise times specified by the user to emulate the changing conditions of a complex load or grid.

About the EAC-ACS-4Q

Each EAC-ACS-4Q module can sink and source both AC and DC power. All three of the unit's phases are individually programmable for voltage, frequency, phase angles, and superimposed harmonics. This provides up to three power systems from one unit. Modules are available as 30kVA or 50kVA models, stackable to over 2.5MW in master/slave.

When functioning as a load, the EAC-ACS-4Q has an inbuilt monitoring system that synchronises with grid conditions. This recycles the AC/DC sink energy from the loadside back to the three phase mains. Single-phase operation with double current down to DC operation is also possible.

The supplied software allows protection levels to be set on both the lineside and loadside of the system, and a basic waveform generator mode. An optional Fourier tool can create virtually any conceivable periodic waveform, with superimposed harmonics and inter-harmonic voltages up to 5000Hz. GUIs are also available to simulate a variety of grid and impedance conditions. An RLC load mode and EMC test software are also optional.
